Saorsa Ceremonies
Independent Funeral Celebrant
My name is Caroline and I chose to name my celebrancy service Saorsa (seer-sha) as it’s the Gaelic word for Freedom. I hope to give you the freedom to plan a ceremony which honours your loved one in the way that you or they would wish.
Particularly after someone has died, it can be hard to know where to start. This is a time when you need to slow down and give careful consideration to your own emotions. Don’t feel that you need to rush in to making decisions.
When you are ready, you may wish to begin by contacting a funeral director. However, if you would like a chat about what an Independent Funeral Celebrant can offer in terms of a celebration, please don’t hesitate to contact me on 07591069203.
A little about me
I live in Errol with my husband, John. Between us we have five children and many grandchildren.
I’ve had a varied worklife. I’ve worked in offices, in care-at-home and in nursing homes, both as a carer and as a wellbeing and activity coordinator. I have also trained as a yoga teacher which has given me skills I’ve been able to take into care homes to help others relax: skills that can also be transferred into the work of a Celebrant.
I have a great love of poetry and storytelling and poetry is such a large part of ceremony and celebration. My own faith is that of a Triratna Buddhist but as an Independent Civil Celebrant, I am free to incorporate elements of spirituality into my service and am happy to work with people of all denominations or none.
